How To Live In A Shoebox?
I was able to convince The Landlady to give us a better rate should we transfer to a bigger room in the house. And so, A and I went to the office of an internet provider to apply for a connection. Unfortunately, Provider A’s lines in our area are already full. This sunk my heart to the depths of the sea.
The next day, Provider B told us they have a connection in the area, but they would need a valid mobile number. After buying a new simcard and completing the application form, we paid for the first month and just waited for the call. I thought everything was well and good only to find out from the installers that a big Tamarind tree is the reason why they could not set up a connection for us. There was nothing much that they can do to the point that they recommended that we just ask for a refund! Fine, at least they were honest.
Now, I don’t know what would be our best option.
Since we need internet connection and we can’t have that set up in our current place, we thought of moving. The problem now is that the new room that we checked out is small and not well ventilated. We also cannot cook. Although, I must say that the T&Bs are very clean. And the house is of walking distance from the office. Plus, we get to use the wi- fi access of the owner for free.
But I just have so many things and I don’t think I can get rid of half of them. This is really stressing me out!
